SPACES

We're on a mission to transform the vast number of empty and underused spaces in Oxfordshire's urban centres into affordable workplaces for purpose driven organisations and individuals.

We now have over 20 buildings and units that we've brought back into temporary or 'meanwhile' use across Oxfordshire, including retail spaces, offices, studios, shared community hubs and more. Residents who work in these buildings span many different sectors, but are united by a commitment to positive cultural, social or environmental impact. They include artists and makers, small charities, local community groups and more.

If your work fits this description and you’re looking for affordable space to work, connect and be inspired, Makespace Oxford is for you.

*Psst - not all of our spaces are listed here. We also have a number of small, single-occupancy buildings that are successfully operating in transformed buildings across the county.

A number of these spaces are part of the ‘Meanwhile in Oxfordshire…’ programme, a county-wide initiative seeking to reanimate underused space in our urban centres. The programme was developed by Oxford City Council, with funding secured by OxLEP from the central government’s Getting Building Fund.
