Strategic Director

We are currently recruiting for the position of Makespace Oxford’s Strategic Director; as we continue to transform empty and underused spaces into community driven hubs, thriving with creativity and innovation. 

We’re looking for an imaginative, insightful and compassionate individual, with experience in business strategic development, managing a small team, and building strong partnerships; a natural flair for rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck in and problem-solving on their feet.

Community Researcher

Are you a community researcher with a passion for action research using bold creative and participatory methods to engage local communities? Are you available to start an exciting short research project within the next 6 weeks?
If so, Makespace Oxford would love to hear from you.

We are refurbishing a building in Park End Street, Oxford with the intention of turning into a community resource. We are seeking a community researcher with lots of ideas and a strong interpersonal skills to engage the community local to “the Community Works”, to explore how best the project can serve community needs, with a particular focus on those who have been most affected by the impacts of COVID 19 locally and more widely in Oxford.

A fee of £1500- £2000 is available and we envisage the work will take 3-4 weeks including reporting. If you are interested please send a covering letter outlining your relevant experience, your availability and including examples of similar community research work that you have delivered, plus a brief proposal (max 500 words) outlining how you might approach the task. We will be considering proposals on an ongoing basis.
