Community Development Coordinator (South Oxfordshire)
Salary: £30k per annum
Starting date: As soon as possible
Contract: Fixed term until July 2024 (with potential for extension)
Hours: Full time – 5 days a week/37.5 hours (4 days/30 hours per week also considered)
Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays
Pension: Statutory (3%) employer contribution to the NEST pension scheme
Our Community Development Coordinators manage the day to day running and community engagement of our hub spaces in Wantage, Abingdon, Didcot, Chipping Norton and Oxford.
These roles are central to enabling our socially-driven and purpose-led resident communities to thrive. Their key purpose is to bring local communities together, providing a nurturing environment so that our residents are connected, developed and supported to have impact in their work.
Community Development Coordinators each take a workspace lead, taking responsibility for the development of that hub space, whilst working together with the rest of the team on common projects and to provide support across the portfolio of workspaces.
They are expected to reach out locally – building links and relationships with individuals, community groups, charities, social enterprises and business support/training providers. They lead on day to day workspace management, resident administration, internal communications and the design and delivery of events to maximise each businesses’ potential.
The current vacancy will be based in South Oxfordshire, leading either the Wantage or Didcot hub space.
Successful candidates will be enthusiastic about this unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to a major initiative – passionate about building a more inclusive economy and a more just society. They will be an outgoing and approachable ‘people’ person, a natural collaborator and highly organised administrator. They will be an excellent communicator, adept at bridging and forming networks, ideally with experience of events and venue operations.
