Working at Makespace Oxford

We were excited to announce earlier this year that Makespace Oxford have teamed up with local councils and other partners to launch a new £1.7m programme, Meanwhile in Oxfordshire, to breathe life back into boarded up high streets, transforming empty buildings into vibrant places for artists, makers, independent retailers and purpose-driven organisations.

With the launch of this new programme, we have expanded our team, offering an opportunity to join a young and dynamic organisation at an exciting time of growth.

Communities Coordinator – Owned by Oxford Project

We are recruiting a Communities Coordinator (2 days a week) to support the delivery of ‘Owned by Oxford’, an exciting project funded by the Friends Provident Foundation until September 2022.

Owned by Oxford (ObO) is trialing a new approach to implementing community wealth building; working from the ‘top down’ and ‘bottom up’ simultaneously. The aim is to integrate community-led economic development of democratic businesses with better-known, institution-led approaches to community wealth building.

If you are enthusiastic about community wealth building, an outgoing and approachable ‘people’ person, a natural collaborator, a team player and excellent communicator with networks in the Oxford area – we’d love to hear from you!
